On Saturday, September 30th, His Excellency Alain Castet, Bishop Emeritus of Luçon, consecrated the new high altar of the Fraternity of St Vincent Ferrer’s church, dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. This is a magnificent piece of work by an artist from the South Tyrol region of Italy, Remy Insam, in a classical medieval style and arrangement; the wings are designed to be kept closed for Lent, and show images of Our Lord’s Passion which correspond to two of the Sorrowful Mysteries, the Agony in the Garden and the Carrying of the Cross. Yesterday, the FSVF’s YouTube channel posted this video which shows it being opened at the beginning of the ceremony, just as the Introit starts.
Here is the video of the complete ceremony, clocking in at just over 3½ hours. May this project inspire many more of its kind!
