From August 20-22, the diocese of Covington, Kentucky, held a triduum of prayer, fasting, and sacrifice for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic and all its effects, culminating with Mass on the feast of the Queenship of Mary, celebrated by Bishop Roger Foys at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Assumption. Following the Mass, Bishop Foys traveled throughout the city of Covington, its urban parishes, and to St Elizabeth Hospital where he gave a blessing with a 1st class relic of St Rocco (Roch), the protector against pandemics. A votive altar to St. Rocco currently graces the sanctuary of the Cathedral-Basilica where the faithful may pray and venerate the relic. Thanks to our friend Fr Jordan Hainsey of the diocese of Covington for sharing these pictures with us.
