Here are a few late contributions to our Immaculate Conception photopost series, to commemorate the octave day, also including a Mass for the feast of Our Lady Guadalupe, and some more blue vestments. Rorate and Gaudete photoposts will start in a day or two, since we have already received quite a number of the former; send your contributions to photopost@newliturgicalmovement.org, and remember to include the name and location of the church, and any other information which you think important. Gaudete, Dominus enim prope est!!

On the feast of the Immaculate Conception, twelve young ladies of the parish were solemnly received into the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin after the main Mass. The church has two chapters of this organization, the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin for young ladies ages 14-20, and the Sodality of Mary, Mother of Mercy (named after the church’s Marian altar) for women over 21. The banner is historical to the church, but this is probably the first time new members have been enrolled in several decades.
Before Mass, the medals were placed on the Lady Altar.
