Christmas Schedule of Our Lady of Mt Carmel in New York

The Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Manhattan will keep the following schedule for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The church is located at 448 East 116th Street.


Tuesday, December 24, Christmas Eve
7:00 a.m. & 9:00 a.m. - Late Advent Weekday English Masses
7:45 a.m. - EF Low Mass Extraordinary

11:00 p.m. - Church opens: Before Midnight Mass, there will be opportunity to go to Confession, the Holy Rosary will be recited, and carols will be sung
11:55 p.m. - Proclamation of the Nativity of the Lord (the Kalendas) before the Midnight Mass

Wednesday, December 25, Christmas Day
12:00 a.m. - Solemn Midnight Mass in the Extraordinary Form; procession to and blessing of the Creche before Mass, veneration of the Christ Child after Mass. Programs will be provided with translations of the propers and readings and explanations of the Mass
1:30 a.m. - Dawn Mass of Christmas (Low Mass)
9:00 a.m. - English Sung Mass of Christmas Day
10:30 a.m. - EF Missa Cantata of Christmas Day
12:00 noon - Spanish Sung Mass of Christmas Day

The Nativity Scene and Christmas Decorations will remain in place until Sunday, February 2, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord and Purification of Our Lady, commonly known as Candlemas.
