Today is the feast of St Cecilia, Patron Saint of musicians and of many choirs named in her honor. Our good friends of the Schola Sainte-Cécile in Paris will celebrate by singing the Parish Mass for Solemn Feasts by the composer François Couperin (1668-1733), together with the plainchants of the Mass of St Cecilia and a variety of motets; as always, the full program is posted on their website. All of the ceremonies which they sing at their home church, St Eugène, are live-streamed on their YouTube channel, and remain available to watch afterwards. The Mass today begins at 7pm Paris time, which is 1pm on the East coast of the United States, 10 am on the West coast. Bonne fêtes, chers amis!
