The Feast of St. Agnes at St. Agnes' Church in St. Paul

Although St. Agnes’ feast day is January 21st on the Calendar, the parish is permitted to celebrate the feast on the nearest Sunday with the solemnity due to it. The honored guest this year was a protégé of Msgr. Richard Schuler, Fr. C. Frank Phillips, C.R., Pastor of St. John Cantius Church in Chicago. He was the main celebrant at the Latin High Mass (OF), featuring the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale singing Gounod’s Messe Solennelle. He also delivered a lecture to a packed house encouraging the restoration of the sacred in our homes and families, and the day was capped with Vespers. (Click here to watch a great lecture given by our editor, Jeffrey Tucker, at the CMAA conference last year, about the legacy of Monsignor Schuler.)
