The renovations added new gothic windows in place of the rectangular stained-glass windows found there before, as well as other gothic architectural elements down the length of the chapel -- which now replace the former, more "boxy" appearance of the chapel. A wooden beam ceiling was also added with decorative church symbols gilded and painted on the ceilings. (Sadly, no pictures are available.)
In addition, the renovation also resulted in the removal of the temporary wooden freestanding altar and reclaimed the use of the 19th century marble altar as the primary altar of the chapel.
