Shawn Tribe recently wrote about the Abbey of St Joseph de Clairval in Flavigny in deepest Dijon. Their workshop produces prints of prayer cards and devotional art of modern works in the style of French early gothic 13th-century illuminated manuscripts.
When I first decided I wanted to paint for the Church it was to the gothic that I was first attracted. I was not aware at that stage of anyone producing modern works in the gothic style so in order to receive a training went first to the nearest I could find and learned icon painting. Perhaps if I had known about these, I might have found myself in France rather than New Hampshire. You can see these and others at their website, here.
