That Beatification Mass

I'm with Damian Thompson that the music proposed for the Newman Beatification Mass is much improved. But look at the lineup. It has some bad apples amidst mostly beautiful music but, at the same time, it is regrettable that this entire spat has devolved into a war over style, as important as that subject is. What is really striking is the complete absence of Mass propers. Perhaps not everything sung is mentioned here. That's always a possibility. Even so, a Papal Mass without Mass propers indicates a serious problem, no matter how great the motets are.
