News, Video and Images from Lithuania: Ad Fontes and the Usus Antiquior at Riga Cathedral

The good folks of Ad Fontes in Lithuania send in this news:

Tridentine Mass at Riga Cathedral

"Ad Fontes“ movement for the revival of the Traditional liturgy in Lithuania, which has started in Kražiai parish in 2002, now has reached Riga, the capital of Latvia. There is a keen interest among Latvian Catholics to revive the extraordinary rite on the daily basis in the heart of Latvian Catholics – the Cathedral of St. James.

It has been the 4th year that "Schola Cantorum Vilnensis“ annually organizes courses on chant and the Roman liturgy in Latvia. This year the courses took place in Riga, because of ever increasing interest in the Old rite. The participants of the courses were mainly Church musicians and seminarians. Thanks to the Cardinal of Riga, His Eminence Janis Pujats, the Holy Mass in the Traditional Roman rite was celebrated in the Cathedral itself.

Father Alionias Budrius, a former dean of Kražiai parish (now: dean of Micaičiai parish), and one of the leaders of the "Ad Fontes“ movement, celebrated the Holy Sacrifice, and performed a fruitful apostolate among Latvian seminarians.

They also send in some video and some photographic images. First the video:
