Maestro James Goettsche, organist of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, will add to our St. Matthew’s Feast Day celebrations by playing a recital in the Cathedral on Sunday, September 21, at 3pm. The recital is free and open to all. Mr. Goettsche will be playing works of Bach, Mendelssohn, Gigout, Franck and Vierne in this one-hour concert of favorites and surprises. Donations to help defray the costs will be accepted at the recital or at any time in advance. Even though the organ has not yet been completed as designed, it is considered by professional organists to be one of the best sounding instruments in the country. You know it in its wonderful liturgical use; come and enjoy it in a concert setting.
