The Byrd Propers Come to Parish Life

After Jeffrey Tucker's enthusiastic endorsement of William Byrd's settings of the Proper texts of the Mass, someone wondered aloud if this will ever have any application in a parish church.

The answer, I'm happy to tell you, is "Yes."

On Tuesday, October 21 at 7pm, we'll be singing the Byrd setting of the Votive Mass of the Blessed Sacrament (Cibavit eos) at the closing Mass of Forty Hours at St. Peter's Church in Merchantville, NJ. Details are still foggy. More will follow.
