Virgil Fox's last concert

The video below is legendary, but I had never seen it until it made its appearance on YouTube. This is Virgil Fox, playing "O God Our Help in Ages Past" at his last concert. He was dying, and most of the people there probably knew it. It's interesting to watch how he pours himself into this music, totally emptying himself.

It's also interesting to me that he simply does what he thinks is beautiful. There is little consideration here for fossilized "rules." The wisdom of dying men! So just watch this. Put your red pens down, and simply sit at this man's feet for ten minutes.
