I've read about this before, but there always seemed to be hope for a happy ending, but not anymore. So it's hard not to feel depressed after reading this story about Boston's wonderful Trinity Church, which for sixteen years has hosted the weekly celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass. As of tomorrow, this Mass is being moved to a suburban church that is not only apparently in bad shape, but has a disordered sanctuary that will make the celebration of Mass difficult. This move is a result of the financial chaos that ensued after the scandals.
I suppose that, after saying this, I can forget about ever applying for any jobs in the Archdiocese of Boston, but frankly, the truth matters more: It certainly seems as if the archdiocese is trying to make life difficult for these people. Secondly, why should the sacramental life of faithful people (faithful people anywhere, TLM or NOM) suffer because of the sins of the bishops? This is a grave injustice, in my opinion.
