The Rite of Braga was one of the rites permitted by the Council of Trent and dates from the 12th century AD. The Holy Father (then Cardinal Ratzinger) mentioned it in his talk on the Ten Years of the Motu Proprio "Ecclesia Dei" . This is a rare blessing for the conference attendees, to see such an ancient and uncommon liturgy of the Church!"
