Several commentators have drawn my attention to an important point about the change in OCP's art for their Missal publications this year. This is part of a serious change--so it seems--at this company that provides materials for 2/3 of American parishes. It's hard to know precisely when this began but I first noticed it when their main site image switched to a beautiful high altar.
Then of course we have the astonishingly wonderful presentation of a full sung Mass in Latin in the new CD Inclina Domine. Now consider the new trend in art on the covers of their products, which reflect a new mood and a new focus toward embracing tradition and beauty. This is beginning to be a serious change; at least it points toward a direction of change that gives real hope for the future.
