Voting is now open on the Catholic Blog Awards. Actually it has been open since yesterday evening I believe, so we have some catch-up to do. The NLM has been nominated in several categories, the most relevant of which are:
Best Designed Catholic Blog (which we won in 2007)
Best Group Blog
Best Insider News Catholic Blog
Best Overall Catholic Blog
Best Written Catholic Blog
Most Informative & Insightful Catholic Blog
Smartest Catholic Blog
So consider whether the NLM is worth your vote in one, many or all of these categories.
The vote time is limited, ending Monday, March 17th (I believe at 5pm CST or so). You can also only vote once.
I'd encourage you to go over and vote right now.
So why bother with voting?
Well, as I have said in the past, awards bring with it exposure, and that is a good thing. It helps serve the apostolate and also introduce people to our work who may not otherwise know about it. It can also be a nice sign of appreciation and encouragement to the various NLM contributors.
In the past, a general problem I have noticed is that very few people have actually taken the time to vote. Just look at the numbers from last year to see what I mean. That may be set to change, particularly as the Catholic blog scene begins to mature and mobiliize itself more -- a good thing.
So please, do go and take the opportunity to vote for the NLM if you think it merits your vote. And if not, at least vote for who you think does.
Final note: the listing is alphabetic, so you will find us under the "t" section: "the new liturgical movement" is how it is listed.
