A few days ago, I mentioned that Card. Castrillón Hoyos, the President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, had sent a letter to the leadership of the French association "Guides et Scouts d'Europe" regarding the application of Summorum Pontificum. The blog of the Schola Sainte Cécile now has the complete text of the Cardinal's letter. Here is what His Eminence is asking the president of the scout association:
"After having made a profound reflexion on the matter, I see myself under the obligation to invite you to reconsider these norms; a new regulation on your part will have to take note of the following:
"The priests who are members of a movement of the Church have the right to celebrate according to the extraordinary form, like all other priests; they may not, to be sure, impose this form to all their movement; on the other hand, the leaders of such associations and movements can neither impose nor prohibit this form of celebration within their movement."
